Authent/Ink Tattoo Studio needs a couple guest artists for August/September of this year as we have some folks going on holidays!

We are also seeking a permanent artist so please read on.

For the guests the shop is pretty busy so if your work is good you’ll be busy too! Happy to help sort out accommodation etc… shop is right near central station in Sydney so easy to get around.

You will need to have a NSW or QLD Tattoo license OR a temporary visitor tattoo license for your stay with us.

Please only apply if you’re a professional tattoo artist with some years of shop experience.. and your confident your work is decent. We are a private style studio that uses the internet to attract clients so your tattoo photos must speak for themselves.

Guests – We are looking for traditional Japanese style artists and realism black and grey artist, we prefer you are a specialist in your chosen style… not looking for all-rounders at the moment. The window is from early August until the end of September.

We are also looking for a permanent artist that specialises in traditional style Japanese tattooing, if you have a client base in Sydney that helps but is not required as we are fairly busy with this kind of work and if you’re tattooing is good and your attitude is right you will build a clientele fast.

You must be hungry to work and able to commit to 5 days a week. It will be worth it.

You will need to have a NSW or QLD Tattoo license OR a temporary visitor tattoo license for your stay with us whether you are a guest or permanent.

If you are interested and live overseas are happy to have you if you speak English. You will need a work visa to obtain your tattoo license. If you are 30 years old or younger you can apply for a working holiday visa if you come from a western country that has a reciprocal visa arrangement with Australia. The USA, Canada, UK, and most european nations have this. You can stay for 1 year and work and can extend to 2 years with some extra work. IF you’re the right person we will help you with making the move etc and find accommodation. The shop is busy so it’ll be worth the effort.

Please only apply if you’re a professional tattoo artist with some years of shop experience.. and your confident your work is decent.

You must have a hard copy portfolio for the shop.

Please PM with your website portfolio instagram, FB, work history and as much info on yourself as you can.

Please share this post as well.. . I need to get those spots filled!

    thanks!

    Kian

  3. Sak Yan Handpoke tattooing by Kian

    Posted on by keyman

Every now and then, Kian will take on a special project of a traditional hand poke tattoo. The process is long, slow and fairly painful, so only the super dedicated and tough put their hand up to have this done. The result is a truly original piece of artwork, the lines have a unique warmth and depth, and have a mystical appeal about them

Kian received a hand poke tattoo from the legendary Ajarn Noo, long before he became famous after tattooing Angelina Jolie. These traditional style Buddhist tattoos date back to 9th Century Khmer culture, when superstitious soldiers had their torsos tattooed as a form of “drawn-on” battle armour. The monks blessed the inks and tattooed the soldiers with the beliefs they would provide protection against swords, knives, bullets and evil spirits, but that they would also bring good fortune.

Sheraz contacted Kian wanting a traditional Bhuddist style tattoo, all done by hand. This would be the largest hand poke piece Kian has done. Using all hand made tools , Kian started out on the first session, which ended after 9 hours of continous tattooing! The results are simply amazing, check it out!

  4. Japanese Body Painting

    Posted on by keyman

A few weeks ago, Kian was involved in an exciting new project. A local Japanese restaurant wanting to be a little more authentic and risqué has called upon Kian’s services to help with the design of the new fit out. Kian has been consulting with the design team on Japanese design, style, colours and traditional artwork over the last weeks. The key art piece in the restaurant, will be a larger than life back drop of a reclining lady with a full traditional Japanese style dragon back piece.

In order for these guys to have some unique, fitting with the colour scheme, Kian had to do the back piece from scratch…. but in body paint on a model!

    1517572_10152040426842050_3126758063440590568_n

The stencils were applied, and then expertly painted and outlined over a full day.

After 8 long hours, working on two models, the final result was breath taking, and the models were ready for the photoshoot

A huge thanks to the models, who sat there so patiently, not moving an inch all day!

Details are super top secret right now, but once we can release the restaurant name and final pics we will. You will all know it well 😉

  7. Authent/Ink Studio is one-stop shop for smaller tattoos from its great stable of Artists!

    Posted on by keyman

Authentink Studio has fast grown a reputation for amazing, custom large scale tattoos. Bodysuits, full sleeves, rib pieces. The kind of tattoos that requires waiting patiently on a list, having a couple of consults, and then booking in for multiple sessions of hour on hour of tattooing.

But our artists also love picking up small projects, one point tattoos that can be done in a day. Fun, colourful flowers, palm sized portraits, quirky scripts, or just abstract circles and patterns. Check out some of the latest pieces to come out of the shop! Many of these are walk-ins!

  8. Authent/Ink Studio at Sydney Tattoo Expo 2014

    Posted on by keyman

    Authentink expo

Authent/Ink made its first appearance at the Sydney Tattoo Expo on 7th, 8th and 9th March 2014 at the Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park. With the full crew in attendance, the booth was crazy busy, with all stations going for most of the three days! Our artists did a mixture of small walk-in tattoos, and also continued on with some existing large scale work to give the crowds something to ooohh and aahh at.
